What a fantastic pub. Really good old fashioned service...great locals...friendly publican...and delicious pub meals. It looks like it's recently had a complete renovation...and it's stunning. I had the amazing lamb cutlets...to die for. We decided to stay here for the night on the way back to Newcastle...amazing accommodation. Not your average pub rooms...a bit upmarket...even had a flat screen TV and sink in my room...unheard of for a pub...and the price was so cheap. I can't remember the last time (if any) I've stayed at a better pub...our hosts Shane and Naomi really do make you feel welcome. I actually went to the Guyra Hotel first...and after seeing how shabby it looked and the fact they don't serve meals there...I couldn't get out of there quick enough.

This is one the best experiences we have had. The staff are fabulous, as for the the Bistro ; where do I start... It is the fastest service I have ever encountered, the meal was cooked to perfection, and we both had to ask for a take-away container because we couldn't eat it all. The bar service was very efficient and served with a smile. The atmosphere was fantastic and we enjoyed the fireplace to top it off. A top team effort. Well done to all.

Had lunch at the Royal hotel in Guyra today all l can say is yum oh the chef is amazing and her food just melts in your mouth and bar staff are exceptional and amazing

Beautiful spot to stay rooms up stairs are on a different level to your normal pub rooms. Staff are very friendly and the meals 5 start !!!
