Large hall like pub, with a nicely designed bar. The staff are super - really polite and on the ball! The food is higher end for pub food and should be a bit better for the money. Venue is quite loud - sound echos around inside, and the many competing sound sources mean its not for anyone expecting peace.

Plough & Ale has recently opened in the Calderwood Village and is marketed as a modern pub style venue. The first thing you notice if you are travelling by car is that whoever did the planning approval for the parking stuffed up big time stymy. There is a tiny car park that is overflowing with vehicles. They spill out onto the road and snake further into the residential area of the estate. Once you find a park and make the trek to the venue it is very welcoming. Modern and inviting ambiance and decor with indoor and outdoor dining/ drinking options. It pays to book in advance, especially on a weekend as the tables fill up fast. One major downside was that the tiled floors (and tables) amplify sound and it was very noisy and a difficult to hear at times. You order by scanning a code at your table with your mobile device and selecting the food and drink options much like ordering from an online store. Food service on the night we went was pretty slow. We ordered six main meals and they took 40min to arrive. This wasnt a big issue as we had ordered drinks and were happy chatting in our group. The food is pretty good. Serving sizes are really large and represent good value for money. Quality is above average for pub fare and we couldnt fault any of the dishes on taste or quality. Worth checking out and if youre from Calderwood or Albion Park this may well become your new local!

First time and was very impressed, spacious and well lay'd out with multiple area's to sit, eat and or drink. Food was good, not the cheapest but have definitely payed way more for far worse. Looks to be kid friendly unless there are crocodiles in the pond outside. Will definitely visit again

The food there is very good, reasonably priced and very tasty, especially the burger, I had the bass burger and had a really tasty patty, I love a tasty patty on a burger as its very few and far between. The staff there are also very friendly, especially Robert the maitre d he was very friendly and very helpful, we were definitely back there again and we had a great experience for our first visit. The only thing that I would improve if I was the venue is I would put some of those black pads on the roof to improve the acoustics as its quite noisy in there and hard to hear when theres a lot of people, but thats a minor thing, overall it was a fantastic experience and I would definitely be a regular.

Went to P&A for dinner on 13/1. Got there early to avoid the rush. We ordered Chicken Parmigiana and a cauliflower and fetta pizza. I had a pink gin from the cocktail list. 1. The parmgiana was covered in tomato sauce that is used on a pizza base. Where it had been put to keep warm the heat had dried the sauce and it was crispy on top 2. My pizza was only warm when it arrived and even though I love olives I think 25 on 1 pizza is too many. The meal quality varies every time you go. 3. My pink gin cocktail must have had the gin wafted over the glass as all that I could taste was ice and the mixer. This place was great when it first opened and as we live locally have been quite a few times, but it has gone downhill since.

Great venue, food was excellent but the service was poor. The red headed girl behind the bar has the worst attitude. Ive never experienced such miserable service. Such a shame.

Over priced pub owned by a grubby dog of a thriving piece of cap in Arthur Launday
