The Bay Brasserie Bistro had a fantastic selection to choose from. The price was reasonable and the portions were very large! We had a variety of pasta, pizza, steak, chicken, fish and burgers. The dining area is clean and spacious and the staff are friendly and polite. We will definitely visit again when we come to Nelson Bay

Visiting the area for the long weekend. Im over overpriced salads, as this is all people think coeliacs can eat, but still charge the earth. We figured a meal at the local club would be just the ticket and they didnt disappoint. As we walk towards the entrance we noticed the staff facing the west and realised, they were observing silence for the ode. (LEST WE FORGET) Upon entry, we were greeted by three staff members who were incredibly friendly and open to having some friendly banter. They really set the tone for a lovely evening. We made our way to the bistro, had a look at the menu and placed our order. The lady who took our order was super friendly, and she knew what was gluten free and didnt have to dash off to ask the kitchen staff. She was efficient, Knowledgeable and just really pleasant. I ordered the 300g steak (m) with chips and salad, no sauce and an alternative to the salad dressing to make it gluten free. My husband ordered the pork belly w salad and chips. I didnt go to the bar, but, my husband did and when he came to our table, he said he had a great chat with the barman who was as passionate about beers as he was. I asked for my steak to be medium, and it came out medium. It was perfect. The salad was salad, but it was good with steak and chips. After we finished our meal, we went downstairs to have a drink (I had a pot of tea). The staff there were just as wonderful. I could tell the work culture at this establishment looked to be quite healthy. The staff looked like they wanted to be there and that they enjoyed their work. For those who say the place was packed and they had to wait yes, thats what happens when youre attending places at their peak times. The whole world is understaffed. Be kind to those whove shown up. For those who say their food wasnt exactly as they ordered it youre at a bistro with 200 other people, its not a 5star restaurant that has 50 guests. For those who say the staff werent very friendly, Im gonna say, its You, not them.

Nice cossy place and the food was actually surprisingly good. It was quite pricey but the serving was big. It isn't a fancy restaurant but the place looks like it was recently renovated which made the restaurant a vibrant place to eat. Customer service was also pleasing.

Lovely staff upon entry happy to help out to sign non members in. Its worth becoming a member for the $12- if I remember correctly. The savings are instant, 10% - 15% across the services - drinks and food. I ordered the Samual surf snitty, absolutely delicious, fast service in a busy environment. I have since returned and eaten here again and both times I have been impressed.

Want a mouthful of grease with inch thick slices of bread to hide the dodgy steak in your sandwich? This place has you sorted. Had to cut the slices of bread in half to make it just look normal, see pic of bread removed. There was no beetroot. Maybe that's why they make you wait over an hour for your order so you'll probs just eat it anyway
